Willy spent most of his adult life in Chicago, where he co-hosted the monthly live reading series Essay Fiesta and the “completely unpretentious” literary podcast All Write Already!

He studied creative non-fiction in Northwestern University’s undergraduate creative writing program, and has published short works of creative non-fiction in online publications such as The Morning News and The Bygone Bureau.

He currently lives in Iowa with his family.
